Ivy Tech president recognized by national certification organization

The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) has given the first MSSC Authorized Center (MAC) Award to Thomas J. Snyder, president of Ivy Tech Community College, the statewide community college system in Indiana.

The award recognizes U.S. schools that are leaders in assessing individuals for MSSC industry-recognized, nationally portable certifications.

The occasion for this award was a well-attended executing briefing hosted by Ivy Tech called “Industry Certifications: Closing the Manufacturing Skills Gap in the Great Lake Regions.”

Ivy Tech is the national leader in assessing individuals for two MSSC industry credentials: certified production technician (CPT) and certified logistics technician (CLT). To date, Ivy Tech has issued some 18,000 assessments, enabling 15,000 Ivy Tech students to secure the certifications.
