M&M Mfg.'s VP of warehouse operations retires after 46 years

On Dec. 22, 2010, M&M Mfg., Forth Worth, Texas, held a retirement party to honor Melvin Nobles, vice president of warehouse operations, after 46 years of employment with the company.

Noble began working at the company in July 1965, seven years after its inception. At the time, there were fewer than 10 employees, and everyone, including the owners, worked to make product, load delivery trucks, and provide customer service. Noble's starting hourly wage was $1.30.

Today the company provides steel duct pipe and fittings to customers in the southern Midwest. More than 600 employees work at four plants in Texas and one in Arkansas in more than 600,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space.
