Nexteer to hire 100 engineers by year end

Automotive supplier Nexteer Automotive is hiring both new and seasoned professionals skilled in software engineering and mechatronics, a field that combines mechanical and electrical engineering. According to the company, its development of electric power steering, a significant growth area for the company, requires talent that understands the role of electronic code in automotive systems.

"We plan to add up to 100 new engineers at our Saginaw, Mich., headquarters by the end of 2010," said Mike Richardson, vice president of engineering and global steering business line for Nexteer. "Our advanced electric power steering systems feature sophisticated electronic software and sensors, so we're looking for innovative, analytical problem-solvers who are passionate about programming and coding the next generation of steering technology."
