Precision engineering event to be held in Singapore

MTA2009, an exhibition and business forum for the precision engineering and metalworking industries in the region, will be held March 25-28 at the Singapore Expo. This biennial event is expected to be attended by trade professionals and business visitors from Singapore, Southeast Asia, India, China, and beyond.

More than 880 companies from 33 countries and regions around the world will exhibit in more than 20,000 sq. m of space. Six group pavilions will be featured. For the first time, a capabilities hub will be set up for exhibitors to showcase workpieces that demonstrate their competencies and strengths, with a focus on the aerospace and oil and gas/marine sectors. Visitors will see workpieces ranging from components and parts of an airplane to subsea components that can withstand deep-sea activities.

The Precision Engineering Business Forum will focus on the business aspects and potential of precision engineering, with specialized tracks on aerospace manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, medical equipment manufacturing, and sustainable energy.

The event will be held concurrently with Asia MEDTECH 2009, an exhibition on manufacturing processes for the medical technology industry which aims to promote the growth of Singapore's industry and the country's role as a regional hub for medical technology procurement. GATE09 Medical Technology, a global buyer-centric platform to help medical technology OEMs connect with the industry's Asian suppliers, also will be held at the event.

MTA2009 also will incorporate MetalAsia2009, MetrologyAsia2009, OutSource&SubCon2009, Automation2009, WeldTech2009, and ToolTec2009, all specialized events that cater to the individual needs of Asia's manufacturing industry.
