Quality Tool adds turret punch/laser

Quality Tool Inc., a metal fabrication contract manufacturer based in St. Paul, Minn., has added the Amada® EMLK3610NT turret punch/laser system with servo-electric drive. The machine's customized software, developed under the company's direction, allows real-time dynamic nesting and helps reduce setup and production time, scrap, and lead-times.

The system is designed for production of short-run and complex sheet metal parts. It can deliver 500 HPM on 1-in. centers, which the company says is the highest hit rate available today. The turret/laser handles up to 8-ga. material in 10-ft. sheets (8 ft. without repositioning).

In addition to manufacturing, Quality Tool provides design engineering, product development assistance, rapid prototyping, and inventory management system implementation. It has facilities in St. Paul and Brookings, S.D., and a strategic global partner in Shenzhen, China.
