The Harris Products Group welcomes Sen. Rob Portman on Manufacturing Day
Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, recently visited The Harris Products Group, Mason, Ohio, to observe Manufacturing Day. One of the reasons Portman selected the company for a visit was its recent award from IndustryWeek magazine as one of the Best Plants in North America.
Portman talked about the current political landscape for business, touching on tax reform, the EPA, international trade, the budget deficit, and the national debt. He commended the company for its bonus program, which rewards employees for the company’s overall success, and he answered questions from employees on topics such as ways U.S. companies can protect their product patents, a mental health bill he authored in the Senate, and ways to improve the way government operates.
The Harris Products Group, a Lincoln Electric company, manufactures cutting, welding, brazing, and soldering equipment and consumables and gas distribution systems.
