Two gunmakers to expand in Arkansas

Two firearms companies owned by a German group plan to spend $7 million on manufacturing plants at a former military installation near Fort Smith, Ark., creating 70 to 120 jobs in the next five years.

Umarex USA and Walther Arms, both owned by the PW Group, will share the campus. Manufacturing of certain products will be moved from overseas to the facility.

Umarex makes air guns, paintball products, blank-firing pistols, and a Colt .22-caliber weapon. Walther makes firearms from .22-caliber to .40-caliber.
