U.S. Department of Commerce awards more than $2.5 million for Illinois aviation industrial park

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration has awarded more than $2.5 million to the Greater Rockford Airport Authority of Rockford, Ill., to upgrade road infrastructure and develop the Midfield Aviation Industrial Park.

According to grantee estimates, this project will create 515 jobs associated with the region’s growing aerospace cluster and generate $18 million in private investment.
