Whirlpool selects aPriori cost management software

aPriori, a provider of enterprise product cost management software in Concord, Mass., has been selected by appliance manufacturer Whirlpool to automate further its product cost estimating processes.

The software can use both 3-D solid CAD models and engineering knowledge and experience to generate detailed manufacturing analysis and cost estimates automatically that quantify the effects of changes to product design, materials, manufacturing processes, volumes, and location in real time. The software also enables Whirlpool to apply product cost data hosted in other enterprise applications to calculate costs and communicate product cost information among all functional organizations involved in product definition and delivery.
