Whirlpool to double size of Ohio plant

Whirlpool Corp., Benton Harbor, Mich., has announced plans to invest $40 million to nearly double the size of its Greenville, Ohio, small appliance manufacturing operations. The expansion is expected to generate about 400 new jobs by 2018, increasing the facility’s workforce to about 1,400 employees.

Overall production of small appliances, including KitchenAid brand stand mixers and attachments, hand mixers, and blenders, has doubled during the past five years at the Greenville facility.
