SMS Siemag to supply cold mill to Aleris

SMS Siemag, Pittsburgh, has received an order from Aleris, an aluminum coil manufacturer, for the supply of a CVC® plus single-stand, six-high aluminum cold rolling mill as part of an expansion of its facility in Lewisport, Ky.

The mill will produce coil up to 7.7 ft. wide, enabling Aleris to cater to the expected growing demand by the North American automotive industry for car body sheet made of aluminum.The full-line supply will include an Airwash™ air purification system, which will recover rolling oil from the exhaust air and feed it back into the process cycle.
