AP&T collaborating with Diversified Tooling Group

AP&T, Monroe, N.C., is intensifying its collaboration with Diversified Tooling Group (DTG), a manufacturer of press tools.

“The cooperation between AP&T and DTG will offer a full-service hot-stamping tool and die process for forming and cooling simulations, die design, die construction, die tryout, and panel certification for the North American automobile industry,” said Mike Austin, DTG’s director of manufacturing engineering.

A new press hardening line will be operational at DTG’s American Tooling Center in Michigan at the beginning of 2015 for the development, testing, and demonstration of tools and other components. The line will include a 1,350-ton AP&T press, AP&T’s furnace with feeding equipment (Multilayer Feeder Furnace), and additional automation for preproduction and to produce small volumes.
