Rigaku LIBS analyzer achieves MIL-STD-810G certification
Rigaku Analytical Devices, a provider of hand-held and portable spectroscopic analyzers in Wilmington, Mass., has announced that its hand-held laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) analyzer, KT-100™ Katana™, has been certified to MIL-STD-810G and given an IP54 rating for use in wet environments.
According to the company, the unit is the first drop-tested analyzer for metal and alloy identification in industrial environments. Applications including scrap metal sorting, metal fabrication, and positive material identification in petrochemical plants.
The analyzer offers results in less than 2 sec. with QuickID™ software. It also offers auto surface preparation with its Drill-Down™ feature.
