Compact wire feeder allows for mobility during welding

Fronius has introduced the VR 5000 Case briefcase-format wire feeder. The portable unit has been developed for use in dusty, damp, and salty environments. Used in combination with TransSteel GMAW power sources designed for separate wire feed units, it gives welders a coordinated system for shipbuilding, oil-rig construction, railway vehicle manufacturing, and site erection.

Featuring a sturdy plastic housing, skid runners, and strain-relieved connectors, the wire feeder can be dragged directly by the torch hosepack and lifted or let down from great heights by the interconnecting hosepack. The flame-resistant case, measuring 19.96 by 7.87 by 12.60 in., fits through any manhole up to 13.78 in. dia. The front panel with the controls is recessed to protect against damage.
