Flux-cored electrode designed for stress-relieved applications - TheFabricator.com

Select-Arc Inc. offers a gas-shielded, flux-cored electrode designed for welding carbon and certain low-alloy steels in applications in which excellent mechanical properties are required in both the as-welded and stress-relieved conditions.

The 7000-SR is an all-position electrode with a low spatter emission and fast-freezing slag. Its deep-penetrating characteristic helps reduce lack of fusion.

The electrode maintains good toughness and low hardness after long-term stress relief, the company reports. It is suitable for welding vessels, piping, and other applications requiring low-temperature toughness before and after stress relieving.
