Portable SMAW/GTAW unit delivers 300 amps at 40 percent duty cycle

ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has unveiled the new Renegade ES 300i SMAW/GTAW unit. The inverter-based machine produces a top output of 300 amps at 40 percent duty cycle. Weighing 33 lbs. and measuring 12.6 by 7.8 by 18.11 in., the machine is portable.

Automatic voltage detection enables the machine to accept single- and three-phase primary power input from 208 to 480 V +/-10 percent without any need to rewire the machine for different input voltages.

The handle design offers built-in storage and security for the welding cables; the operator can wrap the cables around the handles and lock them in place with the shoulder strap.
