Electronic hand wheel simplifies changing formats, positioning objects with numerous axes

Heidenhain Corp. offers the HR 1120 electronic handwheel to help simplify retooling and setup processes in machine automation systems that require changing formats or positioning objects with numerous axes. The handwheel is used in association with the machine control.

Despite its compact dimensions, the handwheel is suitable for both portable and stationary housings. The mechanical detent with 100 positions per revolution permits precise control of movement, according to the manufacturer. The electrical signal output at TTL levels with differential signals as per RS422 allows connection to many standard PLC and PC slot cards.
