9-in. cordless angle grinder produces 2,400 W

Metabo Corp. has introduced WPB 36 LTX BL 230, which the company says is the first 9-in. cordless angle grinder. It combines a 36-V brushless motor and a lithium high-density battery to produce 2,400 W (21 amps), which is equivalent to the company’s corded 9-in. W 24-230 angle grinder.

The integrated swivel handle allows users to rotate the tool into a comfortable position for either cutting or grinding applications. Safety features include an electronic safety brake system that stops wheels in 3 sec., the patented electronic safety clutch that helps prevent kickback, electronic overload protection, soft start, and a nonlocking paddle switch.
