Plasma cutting system processes all AISC structural shapes

June 9, 2009

Peddinghaus Corp. has introduced a new thermal processing technology called Ring of Fire. It has the capacity to process all AISC structural shapes, including beams, columns, angle iron, channel iron, HSS square and rectangular tubes, and plate and flat stock.

The compact machine uses plasma cutting and precise positioning to process all four sides of structural tube. It provides AISC-approved bolt hole generation and also serves as a cutoff device for running multiple sections. The machine also performs surface beveling, weld prep, standard coping, and flange thinning. It makes interior web/flange cuts and produces legible electronic marking.

A self-contained dust collection and filtration system is standard.
