Deburring tool eliminates burrs, secondary operations on punched parts - TheFabricator.com

Mate's new Rollerball Deburr™ tool eliminates burrs and secondary operations on punched parts. Designed to deburr mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum sheet material in any thickness, the tool removes the burr automatically as part of the punching process.

The tool is designed for thick-turret and TRUMPF®-style applications. It incorporates the company's proprietary Rollerball technology, which uses the extended programming capabilities of punch presses operating in the X and Y axes with the ram down. Using a ball in both the upper and lower part of the tool, it pushes the burr away, creating a slight radius on the punched edge. Smooth to the touch, the deburred edge is consistent, the company reports.

The tool can process all part contours, including small, tight corners. It includes springs for adjusting tension appropriate for the material being punched.
