Electrochemical system cleans impurities from GMAW, GTAW welds

Walter Surface Technologies has released the SURFOX 304 electrochemical GMAW and GTAW cleaning system. It cleans without the use of hazardous materials and without altering the parent material’s surface.

A patent-pending quick-change system allows users to switch from one brush to another within seconds without tools, the manufacturer reports. A flow-through liquid system delivers the right amount of electrolytic solution to the brush, preventing the risk of burning and delivering consistent cleaning.

Three brushes are available: a triangular sleeve for GMAW, a cylindrical sleeve for spot welds and tight corners, and a microwand with a cylindrical sleeve for intricate areas.
