Finishing process requires no water

Bel Air Finishing Supply has developed a new technology for superpolishing and finishing aerospace and aircraft blades, blisks, and other engine and compressor components. The repeatable process produces extremely low surface Ra measurements and cuts finishing time from hours to minutes, according to the manufacturer.

The process incorporates dry process media; in most cases, no water is required. The small footprint of this equipment and its ease of use allow manufacturers to bring the entire polishing process in-house, the company says.
