Room-temperature black oxide designed for in-house metal finishing

PRESTO BLACK® room-temperature black oxide from Birchwood Technologies is suitable for small to medium-sized production operations that require corrosion resistance and galling protection on critical surfaces for machine components.

The 15-min. process, which produces a nondimensional coating thickness of less than 0.5 micron thick, is suitable for components that require a black finish for visual appeal and rust protection. It operates at 70 degrees and is tested for up to 800 hours of humidity exposure when sealed with an appropriate rust preventive.
