Fiber laser system lenses, windows made for 1-micron applications

Mate has introduced Fibermax lenses and Fibershield windows for high-power fiber laser systems. Featuring UV-grade fused-silica material, sizes are available in stock for most OEM brand fiber lasers.

The lenses feature an ultralow-absorption coating that provides focal stability with reduced distortion and thermal lensing, the company says. They are antireflective with tight tolerances in focal length, edge thickness, and diameter.

The windows are designed to handle harsh manufacturing environments. These AR-coated fused-silica windows have tight-tolerance surfaces, diameter, and edge thickness, with clear apertures for absorption and reflection. The coating protects against dross, oils, and airborne particulates.

The 1-micron optics are suitable for applications from 1,030 to 1,080 Nm with absorption from 50 PPM at 1.03 to 1.08 microns, a pinpoint focal length tolerance of ±0.5 percent, and laser damage threshold higher than 10J.
