Laser cutting system automatically changes beam to suit material

October 9, 2007

The TRUMPF TruLaser 5030 incorporates a single cutting head with a newly designed beam guide and cutting head interface to process all sheet thicknesses with the same cutting head. The machine automatically changes the laser beam depending on the material to reduce downtime.

Integrated collision protection guards the cutting head from damage by folding the head away during a collision, and a new intelligent interface allows the head to be put back in place simply, the company reports. The new FastLine process is designed to optimize the cutting process.

The system is equipped with the company's TruFlow 6000 resonator that cuts at 6 kW.
