Advanced Laser Technologies offers braze plugs for filling the holes left in a casting. The precision-laser-cut plugs are brazed into the casting, which subsequently is heat-treated and finish-machined.

Supplied in any high-nickel-based superalloy to match the cast materials, the plugs are laser-cut using nitrogen to prevent a recast (oxide) layer. Typical plugs are 0.180 by 0.080 by 0.080 in., ±0.005 in., but can be cut to customer specification.
