Indexable milling grade made for machining high-temperature alloys

The KCSM30 milling grade from Kennametal features a fine-grained carbide substrate for strength and stability and a TiAlN PVD coating for wear resistance, making it suitable for working on titanium at cutting speeds up to 230 SFM.

It is available in the manufacturer’s proprietary Beyond Blast composition: integral coolant channels deliver coolant through the insert precisely to the cutting edge under the chip, where it reduces heat and friction. Coolant is delivered only in the insert quadrant that is doing the actual cutting, allowing the inserts to remain indexable for maximum use.
