Multitasking CNC lathe machines process-intensive parts

March 18, 2014

Okuma has introduced the new Multus U series general-purpose multitasking CNC lathe in two machine sizes — U3000 and U4000 — for machining process-intensive parts.

A highly rigid traveling column allows for cutting along the entire Y axis. Variations such as multiple bed lengths, optional subspindle, and optional lower turret help ensure the lathe meets application requirements.

Features include thermostatic design and thermal deformation control technology; an OSP-P300S control that reduces keyboard operations by 50 percent; and the optional Machining Navi, which chooses the optimal speed at which the machine can avoid chatter.
