Conveyor moves large scrap, small slugs across long distances

Prab Inc. offers the oscillator conveyor for transfer of almost all types of hot, dry, or wet abrasive metal scrap across long horizontal distances. The conveyor is designed with an eccentric-drive configuration that propels scrap by metering material forward at a rate of 10 to 20 FPM. A single drive conveys up to 200 ft.

A continuous piece, the hardened trough can be engineered in square or flared styles. Surface finishes can include smooth, urethane, abrasion-resistant, or rigidized steel. Fines and dust are contained to the trough, keeping the environment clean and eliminating carryover issues.

Options include a screening and sorting configuration available with multiple discharge options to remove fines, fluid, sand, and grit from metal scrap.

The conveyor can be installed alongside or beneath one or multiple laser cells. A single drive uses only four bearings, and lubrication points are centrally located for simplified access.
