Magnetic slide conveyors can be rebuilt to extend service life

Storch Magnetics has introduced a series of magnetic slide conveyors.

A 304-stainless steel rebuildable track allows users to rebuild the conveyors later to extend service life. The liquidtight conveyors have no external moving components. All moving components and the drive train are lubricated by a sealed oil bath. In addition, the conveyors are designed to keep out contaminants.

A high-yield-strength, solid-pin, prestretched chain helps extend service life. Most of the conveyors also use an oversized roller chain to help reduce wear on the tracking components. The company's double C-channel, 304 stainless steel, CNC laser-cut track provides three-sided encapsulation of the chain, reinforces the conveyor frame, keeps the conveyor frame straight, and magnetically insulates the chain from the conveyor body.

All slider plates and guides are through-bolted to the conveyor frame with grade 8 UNC fasteners. A direct-mounted drive train minimizes drive components to help reduce wear and maintenance. The conveyor also uses free-floating magnets.

The company offers five standard conveyor profiles: 2.75 in., 3.5 in., 5 in., 8 in., and 11 in., with widths from 4 in. to 36 in. and capacities from 150 lbs. to 18,000 lbs. per hour on a single conveyor. Custom-engineered magnetic conveyors can be built to fit user requirements.
