Plasma system delivers low part taper

Burny Kaliburn, a Lincoln Electric company, has introduced the Spirit® II series plasma cutting and marking system. It features FineLine™ high-definition plasma cutting technology, achieving the least part taper over the life of an electrode, according to the manufacturer.

Three amperage options are available. The 150-amp unit can pierce most metals up to 1 in. thick, with a maximum capacity of 1.5 in. The 275-amp model can pierce most metals up to 1.25 in. thick and has a maximum capacity of 2.5 in. The 400-amp machine can pierce most metals up to 2 in. thick, with a maximum capacity of 3 in.

Each model delivers square, dross-free cuts with 2 degrees or less cut-edge bevel. The same consumables are used to cut and mark.
