Band saw removes material at 70 sq. IPM

Behringer Saws Inc. has introduced the series HBM 500SC automatic horizontal band saw capable of removing more than 70 sq. IPM of material. It can cut materials including carbon steels, tool steels, stainless, and high-alloy steels nearly four times faster than conventional band saws, according to the manufacturer.

The saw is suitable for high-speed cutting applications with carbide-tipped blades sawing high-alloy materials. A heavy-duty gearbox, rigid cast-iron frame, and re-engineered design help reduce or eliminate vibration and improve speed and precision. Band guides are fitted with nozzles that spray coolant directly into the kerf. A high-volume coolant pump keeps blades and materials as cool as possible during high-speed cutting.

Maximum cutting capacity is 19.6 by 19.6 in.
