Aluminum-media shotblast machines provide gentle cleaning of light workpieces

Walther Trowal has introduced the THM continuous-feed shotblast system for use on light metals such as aluminum and magnesium, as well as steel, zinc, and brass components.

This troughed-belt machine employs aluminum blast media rather than stainless steel media. It handles large quantities of bulk-produced small parts, as well as large, delicate single workpieces with complex shapes.

Workpieces are spread out throughout the length of the trough to help ensure gentle, nick-free processing. They do not tumble over each other but gently roll over the polyurethane coating of the transport rods. This makes the machine suitable for highly complex, thin-walled parts.
