Hand-held inspection camera submersible to 100 ft.

Weighing 5 lbs. and measuring less than 1 ft. across, the new Sidewinder push camera from Peerless Creations can be carried up ladders and across catwalks to inspect process piping, heat exchanger tubes, exhaust stacks, and other confined spaces as narrow as 0.875 in. in diameter. Bright LEDs and a high-sensitivity imager capture inspection footage, which is displayed on a detachable, wireless LCD monitor that can record 32 GB of video and still images.

Submersible to 100 ft., the camera is made of stainless steel and has a scratch-resistant sapphire window. Its adjustable-focus, 70-degree lens swaps with 40-, 55-, and 90-degree options and can be outfitted with a right-angle mirror adapter for side viewing. High-intensity LED lamps help ensure shadowless illumination. Optional centering devices attach for centered viewing in 1.35- and 1.5-in. pipes.

The push rod is composed of electrical conductors within a fiberglass core, all sheathed in a PVC jacket. It measures 0.1875 in. in diameter, and all 100 ft. of it coils into the 11.5-in. reel.
