Resistance welding machine features flexible waveform technology

Dengensha America has introduced its new Flexwave resistance welding machine and corresponding flexible waveform technology, which combines the capabilities of a capacitive discharge welding machine and a 15,000-Hz bipolar medium-frequency converter.

According to the company, the technology results in improved part quality because thermal distortion is decreased, and large currents in short weld times are combined with the stability of a medium-frequency converter. Improved current flow management helps provide optimum weld quality and weld nugget quality while also generating energy savings, the manufacturer states.

Direct current configuration of weld current values simplifies parameter setting. Waveform flexibility allows necessary parameter settings such as tempering, demagnetization, and upslope.
