Stainless steel encoder designed for severe environments

Heidenhain offers stainless steel versions of Leine & Linde ISA and IHA 600 series of absolute rotary encoders. Designed to provide motion control and feedback for machines in harsh environments, the encoders are suitable for applications in which they are subjected to saltwater, acids, or other aggressive cleaning solvents.

The encoders use inductive scanning technology that avoids glass, plastic, and thin metal disks to improve motion feedback reliability regardless of vibration, shock, or temperature extremes. The enclosure, flange, and shaft are made from EN 1.4404/AISI 316L stainless steel with an A4 grading, which means it is austenitic and can be used in a variety of corrosive applications.

The encoders are available in solid- and hollow-shaft configurations.
