Hydraulic power system helps reduce energy costs

MJC Eng. has announced the development of its Green Hydraulic Power® system. According to the company, the system provides high machine yield with noise emissions reduced by 20 dBA, reduced heat generation, short cycle time, and reduced oil volume. The system, offered as standard on the hydraulic power units provided on MJC machine builds, saves up to 70 percent in energy costs, the manufacturer states.

It uses the Siemens Sinamics variable-speed servo pump drive to control pressure and flow, converting electric energy into hydraulic power. In some cases, the use of control valves is partially or completely eliminated, depending on the application.

Applications include stamping presses, metal forming machinery, injection presses, and materials handling equipment.

The line—offered in 100-, 200-, and 300-gal. tank units rated up to 4,000 PSI—is available in two styles. One has a VFD, asynchronous motor and internal gear pump, and the other has a servo inverter, synchronous servomotor, and internal gear pump.
