3-D imaging system calculates package dimensions

Rice Lake Weighing Systems and Postea Group Inc. have partnered to develop and manufacture the QubeVu® 3-D imaging system. Postea Group Inc. will continue to engineer and develop the technology, while Rice Lake Weighing Systems will manufacture the product and distribute it through its dealer network as the iDimension™ series.

The product captures and calculates the dimensions of packages, flats, polybags, tubes, and irregular shapes in 0.2 sec. within 5-mm accuracy. An added high-resolution camera captures an image of the parcel to identify bar codes and OCR data. Its free API allows users to interface with the system to retrieve dimensions, weight, and a low-resolution image using an HTTP request and XML parsing method.
