System measures midsize, long tubes

Aicon 3D Systems has introduced the TubeInspect P16 for the measurement of midsize and long tubes and wires.

The system is equipped with 16 high-resolution cameras with GigE technology and a measurement area of 8.5 by 4.1 by 2.3 ft. Measuring results are provided in less than 10 sec. Tubes up to 23 ft. long can be measured by repositioning in several steps. The measurement sections are linked automatically. In open position, the lateral doors serve as a support desk.

Combined with the software platform BendingStudio, the system offers various new application-oriented functionalities. For instance, when measuring large objects such as long, thin metal pipes, the software compensates for deflections caused by the weight of the pipe.
