Tube measurement system has increased inspection capability
AICON's TubeInspect optical 3-D tube measurement system now has 100 percent inspection capability in high-volume production, according to the company.
The system enables inspection of different tubes from several bending machines. When a robot is applied for tube placement in a measuring cell, inspection is conducted automatically.
The system allows measurement of tube geometries, determines setup and correction data, and transmits the data to bending machines. It provides measuring results for short fuel pipes after three sec. and inspects complex brake pipe in less than 60 sec.
Operators can connect the system to a handling system and applied bending machines. Remote control is done with a trigger signal.
