Waterjet system produces taper-free finish

Jet Edge’s EDGE X-5® 5-axis waterjet system produces chamfers, weld bevels, and 3-D parts with a taper-free finish from almost any material. The design separates the motion system from the catcher tank, eliminating vibration.

Features include a ball-screw drive; direct-couple AC, brushless digital servomotors; and single or double carriages. Critical bearing components are protected by heavy metal covers with brush seals and positive air pressure.

The Aquavision Di controller features an open architecture design that gives operators the freedom to ¬fine-tune programs from any CAD/CAM/nesting software using standard G&M code. The work envelope adjusts automatically depending on the angle of the cut.

Linear positional accuracy (over 12 in.) and repeatability (bidirectional) are 0.001 in.
