Alexandria Industries adds space, extrusion press

Alexandria, Minn.-based contract manufacturer Alexandria Industries has increased its aluminum extrusion capabilities with the addition of a new press manufactured by Italy-based Presezzi Extrusion Group.

The press is equipped with a magnetic billet heating system; the ability to push hard alloys; automation, quench, and safety management systems; and an automated log handling and washing system.

To accommodate the new equipment along with its soft Kevlar® handling system, the company will add 12,000 sq. ft. to its manufacturing facility. It produces customized aluminum extrusions, precision machined products, heatsinks, and plastic injection and foam-molded components, as well as finishing, assembly, and welding services.
