Amada Orii makes new servo press available for demonstrations

Amada Orii has installed an SDE 1120 SF servo press for demonstration purposes at Ajacs Die Sales Corp.’s facility in Grand Rapids, Mich., giving potential customers the opportunity to see and touch the actual product.

The 121-ton press offers up to 70 SPM, with faster rates available in pendulum mode. It features a 7.87-in. stroke length and a 40.55- by 27.55- by 5.31-in. bolster. Its motion is controlled by a direct-drive servomotor rather than the traditional flywheel of a mechanical press. The servomotor mated with the company’s new controls allows for an infinite number of motion programs unique to the press, as well as the ability to slow down the slide at the bottom of the stroke. This wide range of motion allows the press to produce a greater variety of parts compared to a mechanical press, the company states.

This is the first demo press that Amada has installed at a distributor’s facility, as well as the first installation of its kind for Ajacs. To request an in-person or virtual demonstration, contact Mike Worst at mikej@ajacs.com or 800-968-6868.
