Chicago Metal Rolled Products director, former president dies

George F. Wendt, director and former president of Chicago Metal Rolled Products, died Sept. 11, 2021.

Wendt graduated from the University of Minnesota and later earned a master’s degree and PhD from Loyola University Chicago. He began his career as an English teacher, then joined Chicago Metal Manufacturing, founded by his grandfather, in the role of division manager. In 1984 he became president of Chicago Metal Rolled Products, a spinoff of that family company, moving into the position of director in 2018.

Wendt was a champion swimmer and president of the Chicago Masters Swim Club.
