Dallas Industries delivers feed line to Manitowoc Tool & Manufacturing

Dallas Industries, Troy Mich., a manufacturer of coil handling and press feeding equipment and controls for the stamping industry, has delivered a fully automated, 48-in.-wide conventional feed line to Manitowoc Tool & Manufacturing.

The line features a model DRFH-530 servo feed, a threading table over the loop, a peeler/threader/coil restrictor, a model DPS-3.5-7-30 powered straightener, and a reel with 20,000-lb. load capacity and load car. The unit incorporates the feeder passline height, edge guides, and coil guide rolls for automatic coil centering on the uncoiler, and all are automatically adjusted to position. The settings for these axes are stored in the job recipe, a feature called AutoSet.

The line is built on an Allen-Bradley Ethernet-based control architecture and features SyncLoop, which synchronizes the feeder and straightener speeds, and ProfileSelect, a feed control system that uses a cam-motion (sinusoidal) profile for feed motion that uses 100% of the press feed window.
