Newcomb Spring Corp. announces retirement of CEO/chairman after 53 years of service

Newcomb Spring Corp., Alpharetta, Ga., a worldwide supplier of custom-manufactured springs, wire forms, and metal stampings, has announced the retirement of G. Donald Jacobson Jr., CEO/chairman of the board.

He began his 53-year career with the company in 1969 as the third generation of the Jacobson family to serve as company leader. Jacobson served as president from 1988 to 1999, when he was named CEO.

Under his leadership, Newcomb Spring experienced a long period of expansion, with the opening of several new manufacturing facilities throughout the U.S. Today, the company has a network of seven plants in the U.S. and one plant in Mississauga, Ont.
