Quintus delivers hydroform press to Piper Aircraft

Quintus Technologies has been selected by aircraft manufacturer Piper Aircraft to provide a high-pressure hydroform fluid cell press at its facility in Vero Beach, Fla.

The QFC 1x3-800 generates a press force of 38,500 tons across the entire forming area of 39 by 118 in. It is equipped with remote system control, high-pressure hydraulics, and a semiautomatic service system for the flexible rubber diaphragm. The press’s large forming area and advanced controls allow it to produce up to 1 million formed sheet metal parts per year.
