AZZ Inc. to acquire Precoat Metals

AZZ Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, a provider of galvanizing and metal coating services, welding, and specialty electrical equipment, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Precoat Metals business division from Sequa Corp., a portfolio company of global investment firm Carlyle.

Based in St. Louis, Precoat Metals offers advanced application of protective and decorative coatings and related value-added services for steel and aluminum coil, serving primarily the construction, appliance, HVAC, container, and transportation markets. Precoat has about 1,100 employees and operates a network of 13 manufacturing facilities with 15 coating lines and 17 value-added processing lines.
