CCAI Finishing Education Foundation names winners of 2022 scholarships

Daniel Knecht, University of Cincinnati, won the Jim Gallagher Scholarship.

The Chemical Coaters Association International Finishing Education Foundation (CCAI FEF), Lakewood Ranch, Fla., has announced its 2022 scholarship recipients. Since 1992, CCAI has awarded scholarship money from the CCAI Matt Heuertz Scholarship Fund to students enrolled in programs that could lead to a career in coatings and finishing.

CCAI FEF awarded a total of $17,000 in scholarships to nine students. Each scholarship recipient also receives a one-year student CCAI membership.

This year, CCAI recognized the dedication of a longtime member by naming the top award in his memory. The Jim Gallagher Scholarship was awarded to Daniel Knecht, University of Cincinnati.

The following students have been awarded the 2022 Matt Heuertz Scholarship:

  • Kay Borgerding, North Dakota State University
  • Jordan Clabaugh, Iowa State University
  • Tyler Kleinsasser, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology
  • Elle Routhe, University of North Georgia
  • Molly Sanchez, Indiana Tech
  • Carter Stommel, University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee
  • Chloe Yeagley, University of Cincinnati

In addition to the national awards, the Twin Cities and Wisconsin CCAI Chapters awarded $18,500 through their own scholarships to students in their regions. The Twin Cities Chapter recipients are Kay Borgerding, North Dakota State University; Luke Brouillette, University of St. Thomas; Tyler Kleinsasser, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology; and Carissa Stalzer, Iowa State University.

The Wisconsin Chapter winners are Mary Margaret Schilling, University of Wisconsin–Madison (James Wright Scholarship); Casey Roeser, University of Wisconsin–Madison (David Wright Scholarship); Scott Andreae, University of Wisconsin–Stout, and Kendra Czerneski, Viterbo University (James Steffes Scholarship); Sophia Brooks, Howard University; Adam Degler, University of Wisconsin–Madison; Jacob Diker, University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee; Aaron J. Kinney, University of Wisconsin–Platteville; Tyler Kleinsasser, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology; Dani Rayford, Iowa State University; and Nolan Wagner, St. Norbert College.
