Galvan Industries recognized for hot-dip galvanizing excellence

Ben Kelly, national sales manager for Galvan Industries Inc., receives the Excellence in Hot Dip Galvanizing Award from Melissa Lindsley, executive director of the American Galvanizers Association.

Galvan Industries Inc., Harrisburg, N.C., has won the American Galvanizing Association 2022 Excellence in Hot Dip Galvanizing Award in the Food & Agriculture category for its work on a 40-acre expansion at Metrolina Greenhouses. Now covering more than 200 acres, Metrolina’s Huntersville, N.C., facility is the largest single-story structure in the U.S., the company reports.

Galvan Industries has rust-proofed the steel used at Metrolina Greenhouses since 1972, when Metrolina was founded. The companies worked together on this latest expansion for three years, beginning in 2018. Materials were staged at the galvanizing facility and delivered to the project by Galvan as needed.
